The Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction attracted over 300,000 thousand car enthusiasts, celebrities sand fans to its 42nd annual classic car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona from January 16th – 20th. Set in the WestWorld complex, the car auction showcased some of the most sought after classic cars in the world and afforded bidders and attendees a like a once-in-a-life time chance to see up close automobiles and concept cars that had longed featured in their dreams. Chief among them was the George Barris designed Batmobile from the 1960’s TV serial which topped out the bidding with a winning offer of over $4.62 million from Rick Champagne, a Phoenix-area logistics executive who’s top bid set a record that will be hard to beat. All in all, the 2013 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction featured 1,343 cars and raised over $5 million for charity making it one of the best years in the storied history of Barrett-Jackson and making dreams come true for car buyers and charity causes alike.
